Journal Anxiety

Hah, I thought I wouldn't get anxious over moving/staying/crossposting/whatever since I'd already decided I'll move my journalling over to DW and crosspost to IJ when I remember to; I already deleted my LJ quite a while ago.

But now there's all those crossposting people, and I don't know what to do! Will they direct comments to DW when it's open so that it's sensible to add them here? Will they crosspost, with the majority of discussion taking place on LJ (like most of the people I follow on IJ)?

Not to mention my LJ reading. I have a flist there which I built with my IJ OpenID, but now I want to use a DW OpenID. Will people who friended the first OpenID add the second? Will they be annoyed? Will they maybe to DW so that... see above. *g*

At the moment I'm cross-reading on three sites, and it's a little exhausting. I guess it'll get sorted out when it's clear where people will be in the future. I'll just have to wait.

(If you read me on DW, yes, I started posting the 8 days of happiness meme and stopped in the middle. I was away from the computer for the holidays, and since I'll have a week off after tomorrow and no idea where I'll be, I'll just start over sometime. It's not that I've run out of happy! *g*)

I know a lot of people will be redirecting comments, but I for one, intend to keep comments turned on in all three places. But then I have a lot more time to follow my flists/reading circles.

But yeah, I think everything's kind of up in the air right now and will probably stay that way for at least a month if not longer.

Time definitely is a factor - I feel that I can't keep this up for long - juggling comes to mind *g* - and that I don't want to.

Man, I've no idea how I'm going to handle all this. I've been crossposting to IJ from LJ a lot less lately--I still would for fic and stuff, but some of my low-content high-babble posts I just don't necessarily think are of interest to the folks over there? A year ago I was doing the reverse but for different reasons--not crossposting as a lazy way of implementing a flist filter...

But I've got Semagic all set up, so the next time there is Actual Content, it's probably going to go all three places.

Maybe I'll get a feel for where people actually are, where they talk to others most, and then I'll follow that place. But for now it's hard to figure out where that will be.

Phew, okay, that is a little complicated! Good luck with sorting it out. But, luckily, zvi has written this very handy posts, so you have a guide to hand out to people whichever way you decide! :)
