*sigh* I love her. And I love the song - I recommend surfing around youtube for other versions, there are a lot. Apparently there's one by Nina Simone, too, but I can't access it. I hate the music industry.

Oh, NICE one. I've got the Nina Simone version - that was the first time I'd heard it, I think - and it's AWESOME. Ms Simone is a lady who will shoot you in the fucking head if you mess with her. (Well, was.) She's a fabulous Pirate Jenny

Weirdly, I grew up with a version sung by Maddy Prior of Steeleye Span... took me a while to find out it was a German song originally. But yes, this is one I love to sing too. If I remember the words.

"My" Jenny has always been Lotte Lenya - I had a recording of the Dreigroschenoper I stil know by heart. (Wolfgang Neuss was the Moritatensänger!)

It's my favorite song when I'm in a rage. It helps almost every time. Und dann werden sie mich sagen hören: "ALLE!" *g*
